About us
We are the University of West London’s student radio station that gives you the opportunity to learn the art of radio while having a whole lot of fun. We aim to provide an inclusive platform for all students to share creative ideas, meet like-minded individuals, and represent your university live on air!
With a membership to Blast Radio, you will have access to the radio studios, and receive training from committee members and our radio technician so you can confidently record and broadcast your own show. Whether this is sharing your favourite songs, hosting interviews, or presenting a talk show, Blast Radio is the perfect place to develop your radio skills. If speaking live on air isn’t for you, there are still a number of ways to get involved. For example, producing shows, curating playlists, creating social media content, or helping to organise events and workshops. We encourage all members to collaborate in whichever way is best for them!
Over the course of the year we will host studio training, regular social events, and attend Student Radio Association events. New at Blast Radio this year, we aim to hold workshops and panel talks to help you learn the ins and outs of the radio industry from guest speakers and the committee.
Events and Activities
Over the course of the year, we host a variety of events including:
- Regular studio training
- Society meetings including meals out, nights in, pub nights and more
- Opportunity to attend SRA (Student Radio Association) events.
